Why do internet job searches never offer a ‘not’ option?
I know I don’t want to work in a legal or accounts dept, and yet while I can positively choose them, there is apparently never an option to exclude them from my search, on any of the job websites I’ve ever looked at!
I was recently at an exhibition, and while walking round, viewing the items and reading the panels of information I also overheard other visitors talking about the things on view.
It struck me as extraordinary that things I understood to be quite straightforward baffled some people and things I took to mean one thing became translated to very different things by other people.
How is it that people from the same country, same town even, speaking the same language, can interpret a short passage, word or phrase in such radically different ways.
Is it any wonder people have difficulty communicating.
Is it ever possible to communicate an idea or concept to another person with no risk of misinterpretation or is every piece of communication at risk of being warped by the recipient’s own personal agenda or expectations?
I’m currently reading, and trying very hard to understand, In Search Of Shrodinger’s Cat, a history of quantum physics.
